Avocadoes

The avocado tree,a member of the laurel family,is native to subtropical America,where it has been cultivated for over 7,000 years.Avocadoes are classified as fruits because they developed from the ovary of flowering plants  and contain one or more seeds(pit).Even when it lacks of sweetness and acidity of fruits(which makes it good for sweet and salty dishes).The avocado is one of the fresh fruits richest in nutritive value,proteins,vitamins E and B6,iron and vegetable fiber.It is also a powerful source of energy.Firm avocado can be left at room temperature to ripen,then refrigerated.The avocado ripens off the tree.The avocado is suitable to kids,teens,athlete,tired or stressed out adults,elderly person and for everyone that wants to increase their vitality in a healthy  and natural way because it is nutritious and easy to digest.

The following recipes are very simple to make and also tasty

AVOCADO DRESSING FOR SALAD

Ingredients

 

3oz. Fresh Lemon Juice

Buttermilk,(as needed)

1cup Mayonnaise

2each Large Garlic Cloves,minced

3oz.Fresh Cilantro,chopped

to taste,Salt and Pepper

Procedure

1.Put the first 3 ingredients in the blender and mix until smooth and a little runny.Set aside.

2.Put the mayonnaise,garlic and cilantro in a mixing bowl and add the mix of buttermilk,lemon juice and avocado and mix until completely blended.Season to taste with salt and pepper and serve with your favorite salad.

AVOCADO ALLIOLLI

Ingredients

4large Garlic Cloves,minced

2large Eggyolks

to taste Fresh Lemon Juice

2/3cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil

1/3cup Canola Oil

1/4cup(or to taste) Avocado,peeled 

to taste Salt(Kosher or Sea Salt preferred)

Procedure

1.Place the garlic,egg yolks and lemon juice in a blender and mix until a coarse paste is formed.

2.With the blender running ,add the oil in a slow and thin stream.Then add the avocado and blend again until smooth.Season to taste with salt.The consistency will be of a thick mayonnaise.Let it stand for at least one hour before serving.

TIP:Alliolli should stand for a bit beforeserving and it tastes betterif allowed to rest overnight,covered,in the refrigerator and will last for up to three days.
